How we can help

As you may know, we collaborate closely with both employers and educators to bridge the gap between education and the workforce, ensuring students are well-prepared for their future careers.

For Employers: Partnering to Develop Future Talent

We offer employers the opportunity to engage with the next generation of workers through various initiatives:

  • Structured Workplace Learning (SWL): By providing on-the-job training, employers can help students master skills related to accredited courses such as VET in Schools, VCE, VCE VM, or VPC. This collaboration ensures students achieve industry-standard competence while offering employers the chance to mentor and identify potential future employees.

  • Industry Engagement Activities: Employers can participate in practical projects that enhance learning beyond the classroom, including school industry tours, young ambassador programs, career expos, and work placements. These activities not only provide students with valuable insights into various industries but also allow employers to showcase their workplaces and inspire future talent.

By partnering with OELLEN, employers contribute to the development of a skilled and competent workforce, tailored to local priorities and employment opportunities.

For Educators and Career Advisors: Enhancing Student Pathways

OELLEN supports schools and educators in preparing students for successful transitions from education to employment:

  • Teacher Training: Book a Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) information session for your students or arrange Portal access and training sessions for new staff members.

  • Industry Connections: We facilitate partnerships that provide students with practical, hands-on experiences beyond the classroom. Through school tours to worksites and tailored programs such as School to Work, students gain the skills and insights needed for their future careers.

  • Tailored Programs: OELLEN collaborates with schools to create meaningful learning opportunities that align with their career programs. By connecting educators with industry experts and resources, we support the development of curricula that are relevant to current workforce demands.

Our goal is to broaden the applied learning opportunities available for students, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and experience to make informed career and further education choices.
