Women in Trades

About the Women in Trades tool skills days

The Women in Trades program offers female secondary school students hands-on experience in male-dominated industries, increasing confidence and career opportunities.

Join us in promoting diversity and representation in these fields.

Who are tools skills days for?

Are you a year 9 or 10 female or non-binary student curious about a career in skilled trades but don't know much about it, don't know where to start or what trade to choose?

A lot of trades may require you to use tools you may not be familiar with. The Tool Skills Day, is designed to help you gain confidence and hands-on practical experience "on the tools". This learning is complemented with positive psychology workshops because a successful career in trades requires more than just well-developed trade skills.
