OELLEN Professional Learning day for New VCAL Teachers and Coordinators

Thirty-three VCAL teachers and Coordinators participated in the OELLEN VCAL Induction Day on Wednesday February 27.

During the morning session, presenters, Loretta Goldsmith and Tyson McNamara provided insight into the history of VCAL, an overview of VCAL Strands, the differences between Traditional and Applied, Authentic Learning, rules of evidence, universal employability skills, how to develop a program - including developing an integrated VCAL program and where to access resources and support.

The afternoon session focused on the Quality Assurance (QA) process and how to develop the QA Template. There was a great ‘buzz’ in the room as new Coordinators workshopped developing their WRS 2019 QA template.

Throughout the day, the teachers commented on how much they appreciated the PD opportunity.
