Structured Workplace Learning Breakfast 2019

The annual SWL Breakfast for 2019 turned out to be a fantastic information packed morning thanks to our amazing panel members and guest speakers. Our SWL Team Leader Sharon Neal ensured the event went down without a hitch and Sage Hotel provided a great venue to host the event.

Guest speakers and panel members for the morning included;

  • Monica Rigby - Policy Officer | Secondary Reform, Transitions and Priority Cohorts Division (DET)

  • Anne Bennett – Administration Manager Calgraphics (Australasia) Pty Ltd

  • Veronica Collins - Director (Hewish Road Childcare Centre)

  • Keeley McGowan (Recent SWL student from Luther College)

  • Graham Russ - Director (Top Choice Mechanical Repairs)

  • Karen Swankie - Leading teacher, VCAL, VET and Student Pathways (CIRE Community School)

  • Brendan Fitzgerald Program Manager, VET Unit (VCAA)

OELLEN CEO Fiona Purcell begun the morning with a welcome, and SWL Team Leader Sharon followed up with an overview of the Structured Workplace Learning online portal.

Monica Rigby then spoke about SWL service updates, trends in SWL placements of the last year as well as SWL and OELLEN. 

Brendan Fitzgerald presented on the nuts and bolts of SWL.

An engaging panel discussion and Q&A session followed with Anna Bennett, Veronica Collins, Keelery McGowan, Graham Russ and Karen Swankie.

Finally, SWL Team Leader Sharon Neal gave an overview of SWL to finish off the morning.
